Changes for 2006

Please note that ICT338 will be undergoing a complete rewrite in 2006.

Mike Dixon and Terry Koziniec will jointly coordinate and lecture in the unit.

The unit will focus more on scalable management of computer and network systems and less on LINUX installation and administration.

Topics will include:

• An introduction to UNIX and its administration
• PERL Scripting for system management
• SNMP Management of network devices
• GUI tools for large scale management
• Backup and disaster planning and recovery strategies
