This information is only applicable to students who enrolled in the BSc Internetworking and Security in 2004. For students who enrolled in 2005/2006 please see the current course structure.

Students who enrolled in 2004 are also entitled to adopt the current course structure but should notify the Division of Arts office that this is their intention.

Part I - 24 points

A Foundation Unit - 3 points

ICT102 Introduction to Computer Science — 3 pts

ICT106 Fundamentals of Computer Systems — 3 pts

ICT105 Introduction to Information Technology — 3 pts

ICT108 Introduction to Multimedia and the Internet — 3 pts


General Electives - 9 points

Select from any 100-level units offered by the University, subject to the individual unit prerequisites. Students are advised to consider using these points to meet the Part I requirements of a second major or a minor. Please refer to any recommended Double Majors and Minors listed in the description above

Part II - 48 points

Core Units - 20 points

ICT246 Local Area Network Design and Implementation — 4 pts
(This unit has been discontinued from 2006 and students who require it should instead take ICT103. Note: ICT103 is 3pts at part 1 and students should take this into account when determining their unit load and graduation timetable.)

ICT103 Introduction to Data Communications — 3 pts

ICT235 Advanced Data Communications — 4 pts
(This unit has been discontinued from 2006 and students who require it should instead take ICT120. Note: ICT120 is 3pts at part 1 and students should take this into account when determining their unit load and graduation timetable.)
